Business Challenge
As IHCL’s brand portfolio expanded, the Vivanta and Gateway brands began overlapping, lacking clear differentiation in positioning, offerings, and guest experiences, resulting in inconsistent guest expectations and reduced brand loyalty.
Solution
Implemented a strategic repositioning framework by clearly differentiating Gateway Hotels as the “Gateway to the Destination,” focusing heavily on local culture, immersive guest experiences, and community integration. Crafted the brand ethos and values to guide brand personality, visual identity, and experiential innovations.
Impact
- Crafted hotel experiences ensuring brand alignment, now implemented across 15 hotels, projected to scale to 100 hotels by 2030.
- The rebranding supported IHCL’s record-breaking FY24 financial performance, contributing to highest-ever revenue (₹6,952 crore) and profit after tax (₹1,259 crore), with continued projections of double-digit revenue growth.
- Enabled strategic expansion into tier 2 and tier 3 cities, capturing new market potential and clearly differentiating Gateway from Vivanta.
- Enhanced brand loyalty through unique and culturally immersive guest experiences.
